Mac Carpenter

Mac Carpenter, a former key member of our club, who now lives in Victoria, has sent the following message:

Ken:
I received President Jim's letter. My, how time flies. The Club was little more than a fledgling when I joined in 1988; and I have to admit that it spoiled me for other Clubs. Having belonged to a 150 member club in Prince George, and a 100 member club in Victoria, when I joined Sunrise I found out about the fellowship that can occur in a smaller club. As you, more than many, have found out, in a small club it is difficult not to be significantly active - as opposed to just showing up and paying your dues. I have known too many of those kinds of Rotarians.

In any event, much as I would like to, I can't get there to join you in your fun, food, and frolic (and frivolity?). Say HI for me, hope everyone has a wonderful time; and I wish every success and satisfaction for the Club and all the members. May the next ten years be as good as the first ten.

Regards and best wishes to all

Mac

PS - My plaque that I received when I left is still hanging proudly on my wall.

PPS - As a memento of my time in Sunrise, I would love to someday receive my Paul Harris regalia. It couldn't be found when I left, and about two years later Gerry Wilson sent an email that said he'd found it, but now he's left the Club, and . . . . . Not really important.

PPPS - Still enjoying receiving the newsletter. It's a lot more interesting than when I was doing it. But then I didn't have what appears to be an unlimited supply of jokes!

Cheers
Mac
